Get trained before the summer with a specialized Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) course designed for those working with teens and young adults. Offered in partnership with BeWell, Foundation for Jewish Camp, RootOne, and The Jewish Education Project, this training equips camp counselors, educators, and youth leaders with the tools to recognize and respond to mental health challenges.
Participants will learn how to identify signs of anxiety, depression, eating disorders, substance use, and the impact of social media and bullying, while gaining practical strategies for support through a 5-step action plan. The course also integrates Jewish values and offers scenarios tailored to Jewish camps and immersive educational settings.
Sessions run throughout May and early June, with a flexible format that includes 2 hours of pre-work and a 5-hour live Zoom training. Cost is $18, and participants receive a certification valid for three years.
